BMW X6 M Will Debut At New York Auto Show

BMW on Friday confirmed that it will debut a high-performance M version of the X6 crossover at the New York auto show in early April.

The German automaker said the X6 M will "utilize several new engine, drivetrain and suspension technologies."

All-wheel drive will be standard, as the X6 M is set to rival the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG.

BMW says it will serve up the details on April 4.

Qatar to pump funds into German auto industry

Qatar plans to invest in the German automotive industry, making it the second Gulf Arab state to cast a friendly eye on the country's carmakers this week, Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani told a German magazine.

'But we have to find the right time and the right price,' the emir of Qatar said in an interview to be published in Der Spiegel on Monday.
