LifeCar - a green sportscar

From the Morgan Motors website
The Morgan LifeCar is an environmentally friendly sports car concept that will be launched at the Geneva Show in March 2008.
With zero emissions, this hydrogen fuel cell powered car is based on the design of the Morgan Aero-8 roadster. A full tank gives it 250 miles (400km).

From the Morgan Motors website
The car was developed by the Morgan Motor Company in collaboration with Oscar Automotive, Cranfield University, QinetiQ, Oxford University and Linde AG. The project cost £1.9m (partly funded by the British Govt.) and took nearly nearly three years to complete.
To make the car lightweight, it has an aluminium chassis and interior fittings including the seats are made of wood. The car also doesn't have other estras including air bags, stereo or air conditioning. Can't be that comfortable.
The Panamera concept from Porsche

Porsche has released the first news of a new concept called the Panamera, which is due to come out in 2009. Their site doesn't say much apart from that it will be a sports coupé. I guess that means that previous rumours about the new car being a sedan, is wrong.
And according to latest reports, there will be a hybrid version as well. Read the Reuters report: New Porsche Panamera to get hybrid drive

Free parking for green cars
The city council of London has abolished the parking charges of residents driving hybrid and fuel cell cars, in the borough of Westminister.
These are the latest in a series of eco-friendly moves by the local authority. previously electric cars did not have to pay any road tax or congestion charges. It is also the only place in the UK with free charging points on the streets.
The annual residents' parking permits was previously £78 for hybrid cars and £110 (it still is) for other cars. If other cities followed suit, I would be really tempted to buy a hybrid vehicle myself.

Electric supercar

When we talk about electric cars, the first thing that comes to mind is definitely not the image of a superfast sleek car.
One company plans to change that. Wrightspeed inc. specializes in extreme performance supercars. Their TX1 Prototype concept can go from 0 to 100 km/h in three seconds, beating other famous cars such as the Ferrari 360 Spider and a Porsche Carrera GT.
Right now they are seeking investment to turn this concept into a superfast production car.
