Mitsubishi Motors is going to release two models for the Japanese domestic market this fall, namely the GALANT FORTIS sedan and the LANCER EVOLUTION X high-performance 4WD sedan.
Galant Fortis is actually the US market Lancer. Features of the Galant Fortis 1 include a high-rigidity platform, a new 2-liter engine with aluminum cylinder block with sporty exterior styling .
The Lancer Evolution X2 features Mitsubishi's S-AWC3 traction and handling system, with the four-wheel drive system/. It is powered by a lightweight 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC4 engine with aluminum cylinder block and a 6-speed automated manual transmission.
Don't you think the Evo X looks deadly?

Awesome customized firetruck
If you like customizing vehicles or simply a fan of customized vehicles then you will love this Custom Ford Firetruck. Called Project Responder, a former volunteer firefighter starts off with an old Ford F-250 truck. He then restores and converts it into a customized "ultimate fire fighting emergency vehicle".
The site has some great articles about the project including detailed technical information. It also has news, photographs and much more about the project. It was quite engrossing to read the history of the project - right from the "Genesis" of the project to the rebuilding process and the ongoing improvements.
Today the truck is a fully equipped and fully functional fire/ rescue vehicle. However, the modification continues and in fact it is a work in progress. As noted by the owner,
"Even though the truck is "finished", it will never be complete."Right now they are busy attending shows and events around the country - the last one being the St. Louis Auto Show. I was laughing when I read about their encounter with a "Walt Winters" at the show.
Check out the site to find out what I am talking about.
Supermini concepts from Chevrolet
Three concept cars that debuted at the New York Auto Show, namely the Beat, Groove and the Trax. Check out link here.
Created by GM's design studio in Incheon, South Korea, these cars are clearly targeted at countries outside the US with a demand for small cars.
I feel that they would do quite good in the UK, that is, if the price is right. Right now, I guess the Ford Ka is the leader in the small car market.
Coming back to the three concepts, my favourite is the Trax, which is powered by a 1 litre petrol engine, 16 inch rims and a rugged look.

Latest GM models on Jay's site
I wrote about Jay Leno's garage a few days back. As you might be aware, most of the cars which have been featured on the show so far are the classic models. However, there's a feature on GM’s latest 2007 models, ranging from the ’07 Chevy Silverado to the ’07 Saturn Sky. check it out here.
Thanks for the info Shankar.

Electric supercar
When we talk about electric cars, the first thing that comes to mind is definitely not the image of a superfast sleek car.
One company plans to change that. Wrightspeed inc. specializes in extreme performance supercars. Their TX1 Prototype concept can go from 0 to 100 km/h in three seconds, beating other famous cars such as the Ferrari 360 Spider and a Porsche Carrera GT.
Right now they are seeking investment to turn this concept into a superfast production car.
UPDATE: Read Franco's interview with Ian Wright, CEO of Wrightspeed, at the BAIA (Business Association Italy America) blog.

Forum for racing fans
Just joined the World Racing Forum and I simply had to blog about it. The first thing that caught my eye was their cool looking logo. Their tag line is "Leading the Motorsport debate" and rightly so, as it is one of the fastest growing motorsport communities on the net.
I am a member of a few auto forums but I had the most fun motorsport discussion experience on this Motorsport Forum.
This forum is made of various motorsports fan and if you want to discuss about sports cars then this is the Sports Car Forum for you. They have loads of pictures as well as videos. I was looking for a picture of the newly released Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG and I found some pictures posted up by a member there. This car has a 6.0L V12 AMG engine and takes only 4.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h.
Anyway, coming back to the site, I noticed that the Formula 1 Forum is probably the most active. Definitely a lot of Forumula 1 fans here. I am definitely looking forward to the watching the upcoming race in Malaysia. The race is on the 8th of this month (Sunday).
Without signing up you can only view a few posts. Signing up will give you access ro a number of features. Besides being able to post, reply and participate in polls, you can also upload and download pictures as well as videos.
You can even buy and sell motorsport merchandise and play in the WRF Prediction, Fantasy and BATracer Leagues.
Best of all, members enjoy a unique ad-free discussion environnment.
If you into motor sports and auto racing, then this Auto Racing Forum is just the place for you. You don't need to be an actual racer, they welcome you even if you are only an arm chair (or sofa in my case) motor racing fan.
